Standard Direcway DW4000 System
DW4020
STEPS TO UPGRADE TO DW4020
Networkable DW4020 Gateway
Upgrading your DW4000 system to DW4020 is a cost effective way to make your satellite connection faster
and networkable. Because you already own a Direcway Satellite dish, the only requirement is the DW4020
box that is added to your DW4000 modems. Currently all DW4020 systems are being turned on Satellite G4R
or SatMEX 5. If you are not pointed at that satellite, you will need to have an certified installer simply re-point
your dish.
STEP 1
Call your existing service provider and cancel your
existing Direcway account. Decommissioning normally
takes 2 to 3 days once Hughes receives the request
from your service provider.
STEP 2
Check to see if your satellite system is pointed at
satellite G4R or SatMEX 5. (You do not need to
have your satellite dish repointed if you are already
pointed at one of these satellites).
DECOMMISSIONING ADVISORY - Ground Control may only upgrade you if your DW4000 modems have been
decommissioned. In order to decommission your modems, you must contact your current service provider
and cancel your account. Some service providers have term contracts and you may experience a penalty
for early termination of the account.
- Monthly fees are $115 a month with or without a Public Routable IP address.
- Faster speeds and extra IP addresses are available for an additional monthly cost.
- Technical Support is available 7-24 from Ground Control.
NETWORK OPTION - No need for a 4020 with a NAP
You do not need to upgrade to a 4020 in order to make your satellite connection Networkable.
The Ground Control Network Access Point takes your existing DW4000 system and creates
a full gateway that you may plug your area network into.
STEP 3
Send your modems to Ground Control and we will
marry the DW4020 system to your DW4000 modems.
STEP 4
Ground Control will send you the DW4020 system.
Simply plug your network into the DW4020 hub. If
you require a repoint, Ground Control will arranged
to have a Certified Installer repoint your dish.
