Ground Control’s iDirect service offers second to none performance on a shared system by utilizing iDirect’s patented Deterministic Time Division Multiple Access and Multi Frequency Time Division Multiple Access technologies. Our automated systems ensure that traffic is balanced across all carriers on the satellite network to increase the amount of bandwidth AND increase the security since traffic is changing frequency up to 8 times per second! iDirect’s payload efficiency is approximately 98% - this is significantly higher than the 60% efficiency offered by similar solutions. Less overhead on the satellite means more bandwidth available!
Galileo is Ground Controls advanced satellite service that is a high performance platform for data communication. The Galileo service is a different service offering than iDirect, using different satellites and Network Operations Centers. However, the same VSAT satellite equipment (dish and radio) are used for connectivity. For fixed systems both the Galileo and iDirect systems use a 1.2 Meter satellite dish with a 4 to 6 watt BUC (transmitter). Galileo more than meets the demands of most organizations requirements for security and application compatibility.
This online training program has been created to instruct how to install a VSAT satellite system from dish assemble to activation. Basically everything needed for an installer to successfully install a dish at a clients site. Advanced satellite concepts will be lightly covered because the goal of this program is to make the trainee confident with the installation process, not the advanced concepts on how satellite communications work.
