Before the Installation
HAVING THE PROPER TOOLS & SUPPLIES FOR
AN INSTALL
Galileo - VSAT Installation Training
This
is probably one of the most important sections in this training program.
Having ALL of the right tools and supplies at the installation will
keep you from making a 1 day install into a 2 or 3 day install.
Please
pay close attention to the tools you will want to have on site as
an installer. At the bottom is a checklist that you may download,
print and check off prior to any installation. Many of the tools
are supplied to you with your installers tool bag.

A socket wrench set
A set of open end wrenches. (7/16" and 1/2")
Assorted screwdrivers and Phillips head screwdrivers
DiElectric grease to coat O-Rings (in case you run out). Found at auto-parts store.
A bag of snap on connectors
A coax wire stripper
Rubber tape
Wire cutters
Snan-On Crimper
Electrical tape
Power screwdriver
HoleSaw Drill to drill holes for cable run
Plastic Tie-Straps to keep cables neet
Fish-tape used to pull cable through walls
Grounding wire - medium gage
Wire connectors and assorted bolts and nuts (you may need to drill your own holes).
Coax grounding block (used for grounding just the coax cable at the entry point inside the building)
Grounding wire water pipe clamp
Another look at the grounding wire and assorted hardware.
GPS handheld to find latitude & longitude of installation location.
Charged
Birdog satellite finder to find and then fine tune the satellite dish.
Make sure to charge this before you go.
Inclinometer used to tell the angle on the transmitter for cross pol.
10' length of coax cable used to connect the Birdog to the Satellite receiver
Cell phone used to call the network operations center to finalize cross pol. - Charged.
A cross over cable used to connect the installer laptop to the Galileo gateway.
Loose Ethernet Cable end connectors.
Bulk Ethernet Cable.
Ethernet Cable crimper.
Rope used to lift a satellite dish on to the roof.
Extension ladder used to reach the roof.
Pocket Knife
Flashlight
Extension Cord
100 to 200 feet.

Windex and paper towels for cleanup.
