CHAPTER 4
Software Installation

GETTING ONLINE FOR THE FIRST TIME
After you have performed Cross Pol, you should be able to surf the Internet from your browser. If you can, then you are set to hand off the installation to the clients Network Engineer to set up their network.

If you can't then try these steps:
2.   Make sure your Proxy settings are correct
If they are not, then your browser may not be able to get online.

For configuring your proxy.. click here.
1.  Start Pinging
Ping the Gateway, which should be working because if not, the Administrative screen will not work.  Ping the DNS servers which are located in the NOC.
Select "Ping Networks" from the right column.
Enter in IP address of any location in the outside world.  (Listed is one of the DNS servers of Galileo)
Above are the results of a successful Ping test.
3.  Reboot your computer & IDU.
Sometimes all that's needed is a good rebooting the system.  Turn off the IDU and Reboot your computer.  Remember that when you turn on the IDU it will take about 1 minute for it to be active.  It will beap twice when it's ready.
Once you're online, you are now ready to connect the Gateway to the client Router, and hand the job off to the clients Network Engineer.  You do not need a cross-over cable to connect the Galileo IDU to the customer Router.
