The Wideye SABRE™ Ranger M2M is designed for unmanned all-environment BGAN terminal for long term fixed location operation. The Ranger M2M unlike other BGAN terminals maintains a continuous 24 x 7 network connection required for M2M and SCADA devices. It also uses the new BGAN M2M Service that keeps costs of maintaining a remote site at under $50 per month.
Wideye Ranger M2M Network Features (Using the BGAN M2M Service) It is a high-speed, real-time Ethernet port to the Internet for any TCP-IP/Serial M2M, SCADA device. Support Serial devices with RS232 (DB9) at 9600 bps with a direct cable connection. The connection is always live 24 hours a day 7 days a week from most locations on the globe. Can use special BGAN M2M service with that does not charge for overhead networking costs. Poll remote equipment for 1 to 2 cents per poll (if under 1 Kilobyte). This is a great deal! Poll remote equipment 2,000 to 20,000 times per month for $47 to $158 per month! BGAN M2M service only bills for the meaningful data transferred through the terminal, and not for overhead, connection charges, or any data not from the attached equipment or client network. Global Coverage - Equipment can be located anywhere without notification to Ground Control. Ubiquitous Global Network - Use the same service provider (Ground Control) for all remote locations. When a critical issue arises, having broadband 384/240 Kbps (Down/Up) communication speeds are available. Latency - 800 to 1500 ms on average (Standard BGAN Latency). The data connection is open, and stays alive. No wake-up operation needed to transmit/receive. It is secure from hackers when powerful firewall rules are in place or using a private network. Service Fees for BGAN M2M start at $47.11 a month for 2 MB Plan (Up to 2,000 monthly polls).
Low Service Costs - Starting at $47.11 a month Low KiloByte Cost - Pay For Only What You Transfer.
The Wideye Ranger M2M uses special M2M BGAN service that
charges between 1 to 2 cents per Kilobyte! On a 20 MB package, a remote device can be polled 20,000 times a month. And BGAN M2M service does NOT bill for
overhead data related to
establishing (or reestablishing) a connection to the High-Speed satellite network. This is a great deal for remote device control.

BGAN M2M Ease Of Installation
Now Available In Different Cable Run Lengths
The standard Ranger comes with a 10 meter (33 feet) cable run from the terminal. Longer runs of 20 meter,
30 meter, 40 meter and 50 meter cable runs are available upon request and an additional cost.
Global Coverage & Service Service for the Wideye Ranger M2M is global except for extreme polar regions. It uses standard BGAN service on any of three Inmarsat satellites for full connectivity from anywhere. BGAN Coverage Map
Security Options Keep your devices blind to potential hacking from the Internet by two security options. (1) Our BGAN Traffic Control Service sets rules for what traffic is able to go in and out of the BGAN network. This service is included at no additional cost with any Ground Control BGAN subscription. Our other security service is setting up a (2) BGAN VPN or Private Network. Remote devices become
inaccessible from the Internet since they do not have a routable IP address. Maintain complete
security over all your remote assets.
Industry Uses Of The Wideye Ranger BGAN Terminal Consider the Wideye Ranger as a low-power, Ethernet port in remote locations. Industry uses are:
►Utility Smart Grid - Realtime control with less about 1200 millisecond latency. ►Weather, environmental, seismic warning sensors over a wide (global) area. ►Pump/Valve monitoring and control - Access remote devices, screens, parameters. ►Asset Monitoring - Trigger Switches, Door open, motion detector, alarm send information. ►Remote Video Surveillance - 448 Kbps speeds allow for fast refresh-rate of images real-time. ►Credit Card Processing - low power, small profile, make it an alternative to satellite dishes. ►Low or High-Bandwidth SCADA or M2M devices. ►Any remote device that communicates over a standard TCP-IP Internet connection.
BGAN Tracking - Monitoring - Controlling $15 per terminal per month - No term contracts - Info
Ground Control's Terminal Management utility tracks, monitors and controls one or more BGAN terminals from a secure intuitive web interface. This highly functional tool provides BGAN GPS location, BGAN service usage totals, terminal activity, PDP context activation-deactivations, geo-fencing, wake-up and sleep commands, and a historic log file for all activity and locations. This is a must have application for asset monitoring.
The BGAN Terminal Management solution is $15 per month per terminal added to the manager. There are no term requirements, and you may add and remove terminals at any time. More information on the BGAN Terminal Management Solution from Ground Control.
Industry Uses Of The Wideye Saber Ranger M2M Consider the Wideye Ranger as simply a live, low-power, low cost, Ethernet port/ Serial Port in remote (or urban) locations most anywhere on the planet. Industry uses are:
►Utility Smart Grid - Automated monitoring, remote control of power distribution lines. ►Pump/Valve monitoring and control - Access remote devices, screens, parameters. ►Environmental Monitoring - Place and move (at any time) weather stations to any location. ►Oil & Gas - Flow management, rod pump, compressor efficiency, linepac, pipe integrity. ►Asset Monitoring - Trigger switches, door open, motion detector, alarm send information. ►Remote Video Surveillance - 448 Kbps speeds allow for fast refresh-rate of images real-time. ►Credit Card Processing - low power, small profile, make it an alternative to satellite dishes. ►Low or High-Bandwidth SCADA devices. ►Any remote device that communicates over a standard TCP-IP Internet connection.

Wideye Sabre Ranger M2M Photos
The all weather one-piece Wideye Ranger M2M is very compact which helps it avoid vandalism or theft.
Contents include the Wideye Ranger M2M, 10 10 meter cable run (Ethernet, Serial Cable, Power), mounting bracketing, And RJ-45 Ethernet cable (1.5m), a serial cable (DB9 to RS232 1.8m) DC power cable (DC plug to open end wires, 1.5m), and U-bolts for securing the system to a 3.5" pole. Users Manuals are provided on this page.
The Ranger includes a simple pole mounting bracket. Two U-bolts secure it a vertical (or horizontal) pole. All BGAN systems operate on the "L-band" which stay connected even in sever weather. The Ranger's small size keeps it from moving off signal in high winds making it ideal for manned or unmanned remote communication points.
The backside of the Ranger has an access port/hole for the 33 Foot (10 Meter) Multi-function Cable. Longer cable runs are available.
The sim card slot and cable connections for the Ranger M2M. This access port is O-ring sealed and is impervious to water jets from any direction.

Included cables for the Ranger M2M
This serial cable (1.8 meters) converts a DB9 connection at the end of the cable run to a RS232 serial connection.
The Ranger M2M includes everything needed to mount it to a vertical or horizontal pole.

The web interface of the Wideye Ranger M2M is accessed by entering 192.168.1.35 from any connected browser. The Ranger is also capable of being configured from a remote site.
The Ranger performs quite well extreme weather from -40° F to +167° F ( -40° C to +75° C). I will also operate with up to 25mm of ice buildup on the antenna before network issues.
The Ranger is an excellent manned or unmanned communications point that can be monitored or controlled by any authorized IP on the Internet. It may also be activated or deactivated (or rebooted) by SMS text message, saving on usage or troubleshooting expenses while off site.
