Overview

The IsatPhone 2 is a powerful, reliable satellite phone that of course gives excellent voice quality and delivers on the standards like voicemail, text and email messaging. It also includes some very nice features like GPS Tracking and Alert Assistance.

IsatPhone 2 connects with stationary satellites that do not move across the sky, unlike Iridium satellites that do move. This makes the IsatPhone ideal to use in locations where there are a lot of trees or building/structures that could drop your Iridium call. Once you’ve connected with the IsatPhone, if you don’t move, you will stay connected.

Battery Life and Environment

Another excellent feature is this phone stays on for about 1 week before it needs to be recharged (160 hours). Talk time is up to 8 hours on a single charge, but you would need to be talking 100% of the time to use the battery up that fast. Purchase additional batteries for $55 if power is a concern.

Environmentally, this phone is extremely rugged and is designed to be taken into hot, humid, cold, freezing, sandy, dusty locations. Just about the only place it doesn’t go is underwater.
