Connect Your Laptop to a portable BGAN terminal for High-Speed Internet globally. These self-contained devices deliver up to 492 Kbps of broadband connectivity that can be carried inside of a laptop case. Service fees of BGAN are $2.96 to 7.50 per Megabyte, which is much higher than the satellite dish services we offer. The obvious advantage of BGAN is portability.

satellite and be on the Internet at broadband

Easy to Use Aiming the terminals and connecting to the Internet normally takes about two minutes. BGAN
terminals communicate
with any one of three geostationary satellites and they do not need to be configured for switching over to a different satellite. Battery
life is normally 36 hours on idle usage. Terminals are easily charged with most
countries' 110V or 220V wall
current. The systems can also be powered by an automotive
12V or
24V power with the optional DC vehicle port adapter.

All BGAN terminals can become an instant wireless Hotspot by pluging in ANY wireless router to the BGAN Ethernet port. The Hughes 9201 and the Explorer 700 both have integrated 802.11 wireless, so purchasing an access point is not necessary.

Media Use - Streaming Video Many have used BGAN Systems for news gathering purposes. In such cases, streaming video is often used. BGAN has CIR's or "committed information rate" channels so that streamed live video is not interrupted for any reason. All BGAN plans have the ability to access the streaming channels, but activation must be requested (there is no additional activation charge).
