Global two way Iridium Short Burst Data connectivity
Simple integration with existing cellular and IoT systems
180° satellite visibility for partially obstructed installations
Rugged IP67 construction for demanding outdoor environments
Industrial 9-32 V DC power input with load-dump protection
Plug-and-Play Satellite Communication
Iridium Edge is a ready-to-deploy satellite IoT terminal that extends existing cellular or terrestrial systems beyond network coverage. With the Iridium modem, antenna and industrial power conditioning integrated into a rugged IP67 enclosure, it avoids the time and development effort involved in building a satellite terminal from individual components.
Its 180° view of the sky supports installation where satellite visibility may be partially obstructed, while the 9-32 V DC input and load-dump protection suit vehicle and industrial deployments. Iridium Edge is a practical option for adding global two way SBD connectivity to fleet management, remote monitoring, SCADA, asset tracking and maritime IoT systems.

Cloudloop Services
Cloudloop Subscription Manager can be used to activate the Iridium 9603, manage airtime plans and monitor usage, while Cloudloop Data receives its Short Burst Data messages and routes them into your application through APIs, webhooks, MQTT or supported cloud integrations.
FAQs
Iridium Edge and RockBLOCK Plus both provide rugged, two way connectivity over the Iridium network, with integrated antennas and access to Cloudloop for message delivery, traffic visibility, diagnostics and airtime management.
The main differences are physical. RockBLOCK Plus is round, slightly lighter and IP68 rated, with 3-15 m cable options and a choice of tails, DE9 or USB connections. Iridium Edge is rectangular and IP67 rated, with a short 20 cm cable, side- or bottom-exit options and an M12 8-pin male connector. Both accept a 9-30 V DC input and are designed for external installation.
RockBLOCK Plus is generally the better choice where you need greater waterproofing or more flexibility over cable length and connector type. Iridium Edge may suit installations that specifically require its compact rectangular form factor, short M12 connection and side- or bottom-exit cable arrangement.
Iridium Edge uses two way Iridium Short Burst Data, supporting messages of up to 340 bytes from the terminal and 270 bytes to the terminal. It’s designed for compact data such as asset locations, equipment status, alarms, sensor readings and remote commands rather than continuous IP connectivity or large files.
Cloudloop Subscription Manager can be used to activate the terminal, manage airtime and monitor usage. Cloudloop Data receives its SBD messages and can route them into your application through HTTPS webhooks, MQTT or supported cloud integrations, while also providing visibility of message traffic for troubleshooting.
