Turn Your Smartphone Into a Satellite Phone
Iridium GO! creates a local Wi-Fi hotspot that connects compatible iOS and Android smartphones or tablets to the Iridium satellite network. Using the Iridium GO! app, users can make voice calls, exchange text messages, send basic emails, share GPS locations and trigger an SOS alert without relying on cellular coverage.
Up to five mobile devices can connect to the terminal at once, although only one voice call can be active at a time. Its compact, battery-powered and IP65-rated design makes it suitable for marine use, expeditions, remote fieldwork and emergency backup communications, while the narrowband data connection is intended for essential communications rather than standard web browsing or high bandwidth applications.
