Iridium Edge Solar
Iridium Edge Solar is a rugged, self-powered satellite tracker designed for long term monitoring of remote assets without an external power supply. It combines GNSS positioning, two way Iridium Short Burst Data and Bluetooth connectivity, with a solar-charged battery designed to support deployments of up to 10 years.
Configurable interval, scheduled, start/stop and in-motion reporting modes make it suitable for tracking equipment, vehicles and other high value assets across remote locations worldwide.
Key Capabilities
Long term, self-powered satellite tracking and sensor connectivity for remote assets anywhere on Earth.
Solar-powered operation for deployments of up to 10 years
Global two way tracking over the Iridium satellite network
Configurable interval, scheduled and motion-based reporting
Bluetooth connectivity for wireless sensors and local devices
Rugged IP68 construction tested for demanding environments
Get Tracking and IoT Data from Anywhere
The Iridium Edge Solar is highly ruggedized, and will transmit data for up to 10 years using solar power to charge the battery. It also features a back-up battery that’ll deliver another 5 years of data transmission (based on 2x per day reporting).
With real time GPS tracking and advanced Bluetooth capabilities, we recommend the Edge Pro Solar for very remote asset tracking, monitoring and management.
The diagram shows how data is passed from the Edge Solar to you via Cloudloop, Ground Control’s subscription, device and data management platform.
With Cloudloop you can configure your data delivery, activate your devices and manage subscriptions, set usage alerts and cost control measures, track and monitor your devices, and integrate all of this data into your own proprietary system if you choose.

Cloudloop Services
Cloudloop Subscription Manager can be used to activate Iridium Edge Solar, manage airtime and monitor usage, while Cloudloop Data provides access to its SBD messages for integration with your own systems.
For a ready-to-use tracking experience, Cloudloop Tracking displays current and historical locations, helping you monitor remote assets and review their movement without building a separate tracking application.
