KIM2 Module
The KIM2 is a compact, low power transceiver module designed to deliver satellite IoT connectivity via the Kinéis Low Earth Orbit satellite network.
Offering reliable bidirectional message delivery, Doppler based positioning, and flexible power management, the KIM2 provides hardware developers with a practical way to integrate global satellite messaging into remote telemetry systems.
Key Capabilities
Utilizes the global Kinéis satellite network
Ultra low power consumption
Bi-directional messaging support
Compact design for easy integration
Configurable via standard AT commands
Kinéis Satellite Connectivity for IoT
Operating on the Kinéis LEO network, the KIM2 module provides global coverage for remote IoT deployments. It supports short burst bidirectional messaging, allowing field sensors to transmit data while receiving acknowledgments or updates back from the satellite network.
Built in Doppler localization also provides basic, GPS-free positioning to help track remote assets, keeping overall hardware costs and energy requirements to a minimum.

Optimized for Low Power IoT Development
Engineered specifically for battery powered field devices, the KIM2 is optimized for standard 3.6V batteries and incorporates advanced transmission strategy management to extend operational life in remote environments. Its small surface mount footprint and minimal idle power draw make it a versatile option for long term deployments in environmental monitoring, agriculture, infrastructure, and logistics.
Host controllers can utilize autonomous or single command modes, toggling the module between active transmission and ultra-low power idle states via a dedicated On/Off pin to conserve energy between scheduled messages.
For development teams building custom hardware, the module pairs perfectly with the KIM2 Shield, an expansion board designed to streamline early evaluation, shorten development time, and speed up time to market before final surface mount assembly.
