Dryad Silvanet Wildfire Sensor
The Dryad Silvanet Wildfire Sensor is a solar-powered environmental sensor engineered for early wildfire detection during the initial smoldering phase. Tree or pole mounted, this Dryad wildfire sensor identifies ignitions within minutes while continuously tracking forest canopy microclimates.
Featuring a built in UHF radio for direct-to-satellite transmission over the Kinéis constellation and integrated LoRaWAN mesh capabilities, the device delivers reliable alerting across remote forestry, national parks, and utility corridors without requiring terrestrial network infrastructure.
Key Capabilities
Early wildfire detection within minutes of ignition
Transmission over Kinéis satellites >99% message success
Onboard AI gas sensing eliminates false alarms
100% battery free solar operation with 10 year product lifespan
Rugged IP67 enclosure with rapid NFC local provisioning
Ultra Early Detection and Microclimate Monitoring
The Dryad Silvanet Wildfire Sensor identifies forest fires by analyzing gas signatures produced during pyrolysis, which is the slow combustion stage preceding visible flames or smoke plumes.
An onboard artificial intelligence model evaluates data streams from carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and particulate sensors simultaneously. By analyzing these parameters through multi-sensor data fusion, the Dryad device isolates genuine wildfire signatures from non-fire background emissions, keeping false positive rates and message overhead extremely low.
Between fire events, the Dryad wildfire sensor monitors local microclimate parameters, including temperature, relative humidity, carbon monoxide, VOCs, fine smoke particles and floating ash. These localized readings provide resource managers with real time fuel moisture and weather data directly from high-risk zones.

Direct-to-Satellite Connectivity with Kinéis
Primary communications operate via the Kinéis Low Earth Prbit (LEO) nanosatellite constellation. Operating in the 400 MHz UHF band at 27 dBm transmission power, the signal penetrates dense forest canopies where cellular and terrestrial radios fail. Delivering direct-to-satellite transmission reliability exceeding 99%, critical alerts reach emergency operations without requiring local ground gateways or external backhaul.
For dense local sensor arrays, the device also supports LoRaWAN mesh topologies, allowing up to 100 sensors to report through a single gateway site. Powered entirely by an integrated solar panel and high durability supercapacitors, the unit requires no lithium batteries or routine maintenance over its 10 year operational life. Units are spaced up to 300 meters apart and provisioned using standard NFC tools.
This hybrid approach makes the Dryad Silvanet wildfire sensor suitable for commercial forestry, conservation reserves, and linear infrastructure corridors, such as power transmission lines and railway rights of way, where installing ground based network equipment is cost prohibitive.
