Fleet Broadband - Cost Effective - Faster Data (page updated March 12, 2009)

Life at sea mirrors more and more the everyday life ashore when it comes to communication. Why settle for less on sea than at home? Now you can look after your business in the middle of the Caribbean Ocean. For the first time in history it is possible to get affordable IP communication on board.

The Sailor Fleet Broadband FB250 (shown above) ships complete with a one standard IP phone & cradle and all necessary cabling.

High-Speed Data Made Easy
Fleet Broadband emulates terrestrial networks where all connected computers (or TCP-IP capable devices) are online simultaneously on a local area network. It uses standard DHCP networking for connecting up to 255 computers/devices at any time. Even the voice phones connect to system wide via a simple Ethernet jack.

Seamless Worldwide Coverage
As of February 24, 2009, FleetBroadband has total world-wide coverage (except for the poles). For more information on the Fleet Broadband coverage areas click here.

Phone, Fax, SMS, ISDN
Fleet Broadband delivers 21st century technology for data transmission and it includes high quality voice and fax transmission, SMS text messaging and ISDN services that you have come to expect from maritime communications systems. You don't have to give up anything.

The IP Phone may connect into any Ethernet port for full use. more info   The back of the FB250 (or FB500)

NEW! - FLEETBROADBAND MAX - Network Optimizer and File Compressor
In February of 2009, our network was upgraded to increase data throughput from 2 to 7 times faster using a small application running on a connected laptop. Application are much faster. This utility also works with our servers to create amazing on-the-fly compressions that can cut up to 80% on typical transfers like .jpg and .gif image files. One-fifth the data transferred means staying online that much longer.

Flexible Migration
FleetBroadband takes your vessel into the IP era. But if you're not quite ready to move to IP, it still supports the core ISDN capability of existing services (FB500 only). Based on 3G standards, it provides constant, simultaneous access to voice and broadband data. Operational systems can be running online and you can still access email, the internet and make phone calls - all via a single terminal.

No Vessel Specific Paperwork
If you choose, this compact antenna can be moved from one vessel to another without problem. There is no paperwork outside of purchasing this system. The FB250 is small enough to be placed in a suitcase and used while on land.

The advantage to bulk purchasing is no rollover loss from a monthly plan while gaining the lower discounted rates on services. Please speak with a Ground Control representative for more information on bulk purchases.

Optional Advanced Security Solutions
Control your Fleet Broadband terminals in the ocean by creating a VPN or Private Network. Your terminals will operate as if they were inside of your corporate facility. Also, with the firewall options from Ground Control, you can further limit traffic usage.
