the best of our previous models, but expands with new
design features for applications in extreme environments.
The Toughsat XP can operate from anywhere on
the planet with any Ku band satellite provider such as
iDirect. It also will find any Ku band satellite in about 3.5 minutes
and create a
wireless
network,
all at the touch of a button.
Toughsat
XP - General Features Manufactured by Ground Control - Supported by us 24x7. One-button
operation. Requires little or no training to operate. Dish
peaking accuracy is within 0.1° with near zero
play. Typical
seek time to find and lock on satellite is 3.5 minutes. Establishes
a self-contained local area network at the touch of a
button. No
external equipment is needed to find and peak on any
Ku Band satellite. Establishes
a wireless access point and wiring to computers is optional. Video Streaming & SNG Capable with daily streaming services. Operates
globally in northern or southern hemispheres. 4 watt radio (6 watt required for video streaming). Can
find any liner polarized Ku Band satellite in orbit, such
as iDirect service. Is
not dependent of satellite modem. It is able to locate &
lock on any satellite independently. System
is not affected by magnetic interference. Modular
design - components easily replaced in field within one hour. Onboard
sensors allow for up to 10° of rig tilt for accurate
pointing. Operational
in wind speeds up to 75mph (120 kph). Operational
in temperatures of -20° to 140°F (-29° to 60° C) at 100% humidity. XP can be submerged in water (while powered off). Weighs

The

This bus uses two Toughsat systems for redundant connectivity (to different satellite if necessary) and for added speed.
The Toughsat stows to a height of 12" (30.5cm). Here is is mounted on our Communications trailer that can create a 0.5 mile (0.8 km) radius access point with a touch of a button.
Weather proof, easy twist connectors are just a few of the environmental upgrades that allow the Toughsat to travel anywhere.
The Toughsat Controller
screens are accessible with any connected browser.
In addition to detailed system information are system parameters, manual control and override screens.
The 4 Watt radio
is helpful for avoiding rain fade issues.
An optional remote panel connected to the controller via a phone wire, may be
mounted in any location in the rig. Most often on the
dashboard. Acquire time is 3.5 minutes. Stow time is
1 minute.
The Indoor Toughsat Controller
has a built-in wireless G router with a 4 port hub and operates silent. The iDirect series 3000 satellite modem is standard equipment with most of our packages. (Rackmount bracketing not shown)
The optional Flyaway Case-Based Toughsat is a complete Toughsat system in three pieces that can be transported and operated by a single individual.
The Toughsat Fly And Drive system allows the Flyaway Case to be easily mounted on any roof rack. The Toughsat is video streaming capable for live events with daily streaming services.
