is a low-cost, global satellite phone service for fixed locations. It can provide the essential voice connectivity with those working or living in areas outside of cellular coverage anywhere on the planet. And with a powerful high-gain external antenna, connectivity is far more reliable that handheld satellite phones, even in the most sever of conditions.
It serves as a village phone for rural communities, or a temporary fixed phone for welfare calling, or it provide remote site offices with voice connectivity, or it can serve as back up to primary communications across a range of industries.
IsatPhone Link provides a low-speed Internet connection up to 20Kbps, SMS, short message emailing and GPS look-up-and-send. It is an ideal replacement for legacy Inmarsat voice services such as Mini M and LandPhone, and complements Inmarsat's existing global handheld, IsatPhone Pro.
There are two hardware solutions available for the IsatPhone Link service. These highly robust terminals connect to an external antenna capable of handling extreme environments. The first solution, the Terra 400 is a low-cost entry product offering simple voice connectivity. The second solution, the Terra 800, provides an integrated handset, SMS capability and an additional SIM slot for multiple users.
The compact design of both systems allows them to easily be transported to any remote locations in the world and set up without technical expertise.

Ground Control provides the required cabling and documentation to configure a computer to connect to the IsatPhone Link for a data connection to the Internet. Internet fees are free, and you only pay for the cost of making a standard phone call. Online speeds are quite slow at about 2.4 Kbps, but with the correct configuration, connection speeds can burst up to 25 Kbps. This service is invaluable when nothing else exists, or as a backup when a primary Internet connection fails.
